Doubles Game: It is all about emotions, maturity and True Sportsmanship

Recently concluded Thailand Open witnessed the sensational Indian doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag shetty winning the prestigious BWF Super 500 Title. While congratulating the great efforts from the brilliant duo, contributing factors scripting the success of any doubles pair is debatable. Taking into account the initial stages of playing at a very young age for State level or District level, basic theory is to first get the right combination. Despite the combination working from the game point of view, other factors like the coaches, academy, Parents and of course the nature of the players would decide if they can make it work together. Basics verified and the pair starts their campaign , face next level of test that include handling the on court issues with lot of maturity, sportsmanship ,mutual respect and appreciation for each other. In case of any blame games on a bad day, strong possibility of high level of misunderstanding for the successful pair is most likely. Not only dealing with their emotions ,also high level of maturity needed to handle the ego clashes of people surrounding them .There is always an outsider with vested interest trying to break the partnership. When there is lot to handle at the preliminary stage, just can’t imagine the control over the sentiments and co-ordination required at an international level.  Educating the people properly about the doubles, can make it equally popular as the singles event and inspire more talented youngsters to take up this wonderful game
